OUR TEAM

Audrey Kanyesigye

Director

Audrey Kanyesigye joined Just Like My Child Foundation as a founding member of the Uganda based organization in 2011 and every day since she has been working tirelessly with our partners in Uganda and mobilizing communities to implement the Girl Power Project® in Central Uganda. Audrey is a highly respected individual with phenomenal communication, diplomacy, integrity, and leadership skills.

With a background in development studies, and a masters in project planning and NGO / CBO management, Audrey has dedicated her passion and energy into piloting and implementing tailor-made community led interventions and approaches for the empowerment of adolescent girls alongside a myriad of stakeholders both locally and internationally.

Having grown up in a safe and encouraging home with her siblings and parents, Audrey says one of her greatest challenges is coming to terms with the harsh realities in the rural communities of her country where young girls are still dropping out of school and being forced into marriage because their families cannot afford nor prioritize education. She is proud to be leading an organization that is dedicated to positive and lasting change in communities that have difficult pasts and social norms that continue to hinder the realization of gender equality.
